Common Questions

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel at any time to avoid an auto-renewal. Just go to your My Membership page and click “Cancel.”

Can I get a refund if I don’t use my membership?

While we don’t provide refunds, you can cancel at any time. Because we are month-to-month, all you have to do is go to your My Membership page and click “Cancel." Your membership will remain active until the last day in the billing cycle and then will not renew.

Do Studio Sewing Day Passes roll over if I don't use them during the month?

Studio Sewing Day Passes must be used monthly and will not roll over to your next billing cycle. You can check how many Day Passes you have available in the My Membership section of the website by clicking on the active membership plan.

How do I take advantage of my membership discount?

For discounts on classes, make sure that you are logged into our website. When you select your class, the discount will be automatically applied. For discounts on retail items, please refer to your Member Welcome Letter for your discount coupon code.

What are the hours for the Studio Sewing Day Pass?

Our summer hours are: Tuesday & Thursday: 10am - 4pm Every other Friday: 3pm - 9pm Saturday: 10am - 4pm Please RSVP in advance. Any spots that are not reserved will be made available for same day booking.

What can I expect once I join?

In order to sign up for a Hello Stitch Studio Membership, you will need to create an account on our website. Once you've chosen and purchased your membership level, you will be able to sign up for in studio sewing sessions and register for events you’d like to attend. The studio is configured for 10 separate sewing stations, each complete with a Janome M7050 sewing machine. At our serger station, the machines are set up with standard thread colors (white, grey, and navy/black). Our other specialty machines are available on a first come, first served basis. There are 3 large cutting tables available on a communal basis and three 8' x 8' design walls that are available for day use. We have all of the tools you will need for almost any sewing related project, including: rotary cutters, scissors, quilting rulers, pattern drafting rulers, thread, pattern making tools, drafting paper, lightbox, self-healing mats, marking tools, and so much more!

What is Hello Stitch doing to prioritize the health & safety of in-studio members?

The health of our members and staff is our top priority, so we’ve worked hard to implement new safety measures to make everyone as comfortable as possible. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available throughout the studio for sewists to use and we ask that you wipe down your machine, work station and tools between use. Studio employees will sanitize common areas before each session. If you would like to work in the studio without wearing a mask you will be asked to upload proof of vaccination through our Health Waiver form before coming in. We will continue to keep class and studio entry at a restricted size through the summer. Without proof of vaccination, you will be required to wear a mask. If you are vaccinated and are more comfortable wearing a mask, go for it! If you're not feeling well, or have Covid symptoms such as a fever, chills, loss of sense of smell or taste, please stay home. If you find that you may have been contagious when at the studio, please let us know so that we can stop the spread! We are currently restricting the number of members who can access the studio to 10 per day and in person classes will no longer be held during member hours.

Can I bring a guest?

To help ensure the safety of our members and staff, we are currently restricting access to the studio to members only. We know that sewing with your bestie is one of the greatest joys in life, and we hope to re-open a guest pass program in the near future.

Can I bring food to the studio?

A hangry sewist is not a happy sewist! You are welcome to bring your own food and drink and eat it at the studio, but please keep your consumables at your own work station. Please be sure to carefully clean your workstation, there is nothing more upsetting than getting a stain on your project before you are even finished! There is a microwave available for you to use and a small refrigerator to store your food for the day. (Any food left overnight will be discarded!) Complimentary coffee and tea is available and individually packaged snacks will be available for purchase.

I used up my monthly Studio Sewing Day Passes, can I purchase more?

Definitely! Just go to the Studio Booking page and reserve the day you want to sew. You will be prompted for payment at the checkout.

Do I need to reserve my sewing day in advance?

There are limited sewing spots available, so it is a good idea to book in advance to hold your spot. Last minute booking is available as space permits. If you need to reschedule your booked sewing day, you can do so through the "My Reservations" page in the member portal. Once you have booked your spot, you may come in to use it at any time during the 6 hour block of time. If you book a sewing day and do not come in to use it, you will not get a future credit for that day.

Can I reserve a cutting table or design wall in advance?

The cutting tables and design walls will be available on a first come, first served basis with the understanding that the studio is a communal space and members will do their best to share resources in a fair and respectful manner.

I don't know how to sew, can I use the studio?

While we will always have an experienced sewist on hand to help you troubleshoot problems, you are expected to know the basics of using a sewing machine before participating in the open studio sewing days. Our staff and the Hello Stitch community are on hand to offer tips and suggestions, but if you need 1-on-1 support for your project, we recommend starting with one of our beginner sewing classes to get an introduction to our studio machines and tools. Another great option for individuals with questions about specific sewing projects is to book a private lesson with one of our sewing experts.
