Introducing the premiere quilt pattern from Hello Stitch, meet Five Star Weekend! If you are looking for a fun, easy and modern quilt top that you can make in a weekend, this is the ticket for you.
Finishing at 45" square, it is perfect for a baby quilt or a lap quilt and you can make this beauty with a fat quarter bundle or go full on scrappy from your stash!
Jennifer Sampou asked us if we wanted to design a quilt using her Spring Shimmer Coordinates and we could not resist! This bundle of basics, with a hint of shimmer and sparkle, is sure to complement any quilter's stash. We love that the gingham prints add a touch of charm to the collection, and ginghams pair perfectly with our patchwork stars. Five Star Weekend is made from two sizes of squares and a shortcut technique for inserting triangles. We know you will fall in love with this pattern because it allows you to make a quilt that looks more complicated than it really is. And you can cut and stitch it over one weekend - that's what we call a Five Star Weekend!
We pulled the dark values from the bundle (photo left). Look at the richness of those colors. From delicious berry, to olive and chocolate, the yarn dyed Essex linen/cotton blend are dreamy to work with and easy on the eyes! The cotton keeps these fabrics stable, while the linen gives them interesting texture and depth.
Constructing this quilt balances quilt design, color awareness and skill development to entice the beginner and intermediate quilter alike. We can't wait to see how you might take this quilt pattern and make it your own. Please follow us on Instagram @hellostitchstudio and use the hashtag #5starweekendquilt, we'd love to see!
