A body of work using her original Watercolor Quilting technique, "Writer's Blocks" by Ashley Nickels mixes typography, free-motion quilting, and storytelling. Ashley's observations and thoughts on life, herself, and this fascinating world are uniquely expressed in her work through vibrant paint colors, words in block print quilting, and an accompanying vignette. Come for the bright and bold quilts; stay for the writing.
Ashley Nickels is a writer, teacher, and artist living in San Francisco, California. She is on a mission to shift the status quo of how we think about our stories, our creative work, and our lives.
