Improv Round Robin

July 1 - July 30, 2017

Opening Reception: July 14, 6:30 - 8:30pm

Drawing inspiration from Sherri Lynn Wood’s book, The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters, each quilt within this exhibit was created in a round robin format. They were created in a group of four to five people for each quilt. First, each person gathered fabric and made a small block to serve as a jumping off point for their quilt’s formation. Quilt blocks and fabric were then swapped around in the group in a predetermined time frame and rotation. The next person worked on each quilt as it came, expanding on the design of the original block in an improvisational manner. Around the group the quilt goes, when at last it returns to the original owner.
