Harriet Bra Weekend Workshop with Amy Chapman of Cloth Habit

**This is a three day class. workshop: Friday, June 5, 6pm - 8pm, Saturday & Sunday, June 6 & 7, 10am - 5pm.**

Learn to make your own custom bras with Amy Chapman, patternmaker and designer at Cloth Habit. Amy will walk you through cutting, sewing and fitting the Harriet, a lovely 3-piece underwired bra pattern designed for great support in all shapes and sizes. We will kick off the weekend on Friday evening with a trunk show and meet & greet with Amy. Diving right in on Saturday, we’ll start the class with fittings and from there students will learn the basics of cutting and sewing supportive bra materials, tips for handling sheer fabrics and elastic, and professional finishing touches. Students will also learn practical methods of fitting and how to alter patterns to achieve the best support and style. You will leave this class packed with creative ideas for your bra making adventures!

This workshop is limited to only 8 students so that everyone can get all the support they need! (Sorry, couldn't resist a little bra humor 😂)

Dates:

Trunk Show & Meet & Greet: Friday, June 5, 6pm - 8pm

Instruction: Saturday & Sunday, June 6 & 7, 10am - 5pm*

*You will be able to stay and keep working at the studio until 8pm each night with the help of Hello Stitch staff.

The cost for the class is $625, which includes a complete bra kit for 2 bras and the Harriet Bra pattern. Also included with the class is lunch on Saturday and Sunday as well as snacks, coffee and tea.

You have a couple of projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

Supplies: 

The Harriet Bra pattern and all materials to make 2 bras (one light, one dark) will be included with the class. 

About the Instructor:

Amy Chapman is the designer and maker behind Cloth Habit, a lingerie pattern company based in Austin, TX. One of her passions is to inspire women to create bras that truly fit and celebrate the body. She has been sewing since she was a young girl and turned her love of pattern making and design into a small business in 2014. Amy’s patterns are highly instructional, offering up-to-date techniques based on current ready to wear construction for a professional finish, and including tips on working with stretch fabrics and lingerie knits. In her classes, she loves to help sewists think through the “whys” of fitting and construction, so they can leave feeling inspired to experiment and try new ideas on their own.

*Due to the special nature of this workshop, this is a non-refundable class. However, if you are unable to make the class, you can transfer it to a friend!
