So many ideas, so much inspiration. How do you tune out all the noise and organize your thoughts into clear and concise design strategies?

You are unique and individual! Embrace this by discovering what your personal style is, and how to incorporate this into your work to create original designs that reflect who you are and what you love. In a step by step process, you will find your natural sense of style and design, and your own true voice will emerge. 

In our first class meeting, we will learn how to create a personal Design Journal. 

During the two weeks between classes, you will gather images and items you would like to include in your journal and begin assembling your journal. By sharing our progress and discussing it in a dedicated online area for the class, we all get to learn from each other. Pati will help you see some of the emerging trends in what you've gathered.

In our second class, we will begin by sharing our journals and then jump into some creative exercises. The exercises are structed to help you learn about yourself and to focus on your aesthetic and design sensibility. From there we'll discuss how to maintain and leverage your design journal so you are never without your next idea.

By the end of the Workshop, you will:

● Know and embrace your own unique sense of style and design.

● Use your Design Journal to inspire future projects that speak to your heart.

● Map out the first of many new projects, celebrating your newfound voice in design and quilting!

You will leave with the everything you need to be able to use your journal in your ongoing creative practice to gather and record your ideas and inspirations.

This class is about finding your creative voice. There is no sewing! And, this process works for artists in any medium.

To give you an interactive experience, we've created an online group through the Hello Stitch website for you to share your progress, connect with each other, get content or watch video of the class. Meetings will be recorded so you can revisit techniques taught, or catch up if you miss a meeting. (Recordings will be available for one month after the last class.)

About the Instructor: 

Pati Fried studied graphic design in college, but always found herself lingering in the textile department. After graduating and working in corporate marketing for several years, she finally discovered quilting and was hooked. Mixing pattern, color and texture is a perfect fit for her, both as a quilter and a designer. She is a fabric and pattern designer, a popular quilt blogger for See How We Sew, and her work has been featured in quilting magazines.

Please select your class carefully, we are not be able to issue refunds for online classes. One of the benefits of online classes is that they are recorded so you can watch the class at a time that is convenient for you. If you let us know ahead, you may transfer the class to a friend.

Tickets are intended for one guest. If you will have multiple viewers, please purchase a ticket for each viewer. This allows us to pay our teachers fairly for their services. The teacher has the right to remove you from the class if you have additional viewers.
