Working in a Series: 6 Month Art Practice Workshop

*This is a 6 month session meeting every month from 10am - 12pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month: 

November 13, December 11, January 8, February 12, March 11, April

Working in a series is an opportunity to explore ideas, techniques, styles and color experimentation. It is a valuable tool to discovering your own voice. 

Each monthly meeting will begin with a group discussion, followed by brief discussions of each student’s series work. Longer discussions or one on one conferences will be available in the open lab time after class. Pati will be available during this time.

Discussion topics will focus on how to embrace your personal goals, explore ideas and create manageable, successful projects. Meeting on a monthly basis with other like minded sewists allows for a safe community to tackle these topics and strengthen and grow your practice. 

Students will also have 2 hours of studio sewing time to continue working after the meeting and will work at their own pace. Finished work is not mandatory. 

About the Instructor: 

Pati Fried studied graphic design in college, but always found herself lingering in the textile department. After graduating and working in corporate marketing for several years, she finally discovered quilting and was hooked. Mixing pattern, color and texture is a perfect fit for her, both as a quilter and a designer. She is a fabric and pattern designer, a popular quilt blogger, and her work has been featured in quilting magazines.
