Learn how fun it can be to make your own backpack! The Range Backpack pattern by Noodlehead is just the hippest bag around. The foldover top closure lends a cool style to the traditional backpack shape while still keeping your contents secure and there's a handy front zip pocket for quick access to all your essentials. Pick out your favorite canvas and make the best bag in town!

This class will cover:
- How to insert a zipper
- All about using interfacing
- Attaching hardware
- Tips and tricks to make sewing your bag more fast and fun
Skill level: Advanced Beginner - Intermediate: You have a few projects under your belt and are comfortable with using a sewing machine. You're ready to learn more advanced basics, like how to work with different fabrics or insert a zipper.
Supplies: The Range Backpack by Noodlehead pattern, hardware, zipper, twill hang loop, and interfacings are included with the cost of the class. You will need to purchase fabric and a zipper for your bag. A complete supply list will be emailed to you upon registration.
About the instructor:
Julia Lichtenstein first fell in love with design when she started attending a sewing camp in 2nd grade and has been sewing and designing ever since. She grew up in Eugene Oregon and moved to New York City to study Fashion Design at Pratt Institute. After spending 16 years in NYC designing for some well known fashion companies and everything from women's couture to activewear to menswear, she made her way back to the west coast to design girls clothes for Gymboree. Sewing and Fashion are her favorite things and she's excited to share her expertise and passion.
