About the Event

Join Hello Stitch Gallery artist Sandra Johnson to learn industry tricks used in creating ready to wear clothing that you can use in your everyday sewing. While making this bomber jacket, you'll work with upcycled materials to create a one-of-a-kind look. You will see how fun and easy it is to cut, sew and finish this jacket in one day. This workshop will be an enjoyable time for you to learn new tricks, refresh your knowledge of best practices, and have a fun filled day with other creative people. Oh, and at the end of the day you'll walk out in your new bomber jacket!

Skill level: Advanced Beginner and up

Supplies: The pattern for your bomber jacket will be included with the class. A complete supply list will be emailed upon registration, but you will need the following upcycled materials:

Front & back of jacket: A quilt or other suitable piece of upcycled material that measures at least 36” x 45”.  Vintage "cutter quilts" can often be found for cheap on sites like Ebay. These are quilts have been deemed too worn for use on beds, but often have plenty of salvageable (and beautiful)

Sleeves: Denim or fabric for the sleeves (7/8 yards) of 45” wide fabric or old jeans which you will deconstruct

*This class comes free lab time until 8pm the day of your class so that you can stay and work on your pattern with the help of Hello Stitch Staff.
