Quilting Skill Builder: #100days100blocks with Hello Stitch (August Session)

**August Session: Wednesdays from 7pm - 8:30pm starting on August 7**

Join us for some summer fun and build your quilting skills! 100 blocks for 100 days is a daily quilting practice based on patterns from the book, Kinship: 100 Block Fusion Sampler. Working through the book, you will create a beginner-friendly sampler quilt while exploring all the basic building blocks of quilting, and practice precision piecing. Sew along with Hello Stitch, and you will acquire new skills and make new friends along the way!

Participants will meet up with teacher Kristen Takakuwa once a week to preview and discuss the blocks coming up for the week ahead. She will give a demo and students are invited to show-and-tell their previous week's blocks. There will be time for Q & A and troubleshooting as well. These sampler blocks are great stash busters. If your stash at home is bursting at the seams, make it scrappy!

The group will meet each Wednesday from 7pm to 8:30pm. These 1.5 hour demo classes are bundled by month. Sign up for the whole summer, or choose the month that works best for you. Sessions will be broken down to:

• June 26 - July 31 (no meeting July 3)
• August 7 - August 28
• September 4 - October 2
• Everyone who participated is invited to the #100blocks100days Finale Party on Wednesday, October 9

If you're a member of Hello Stitch, you can come into the studio any time we're open to use all of our tools and machines. If you're new to quilting being a member is a significant up-front savings! However, you don't have to be a member in order to participate. (Please note that the meetups will be demo and discussion only.)

Are you a super-beginner or someone who needs an introduction to quilting basics? We will offer a one hour beginner lesson at the beginning of each session for an additional $10. If you'd like to join in, just let us know during registration and we'll send you a separate invoice.

Skill Level: Beginner and up

Supply List: You will need to purchase the Kinship: 100 Block Sampler book separately in order to participate. A full supply list will be emailed upon registration.

About the Instructor:

Kristen Takakuwa learned to sew at the young age of 8 and sewing has been a lifelong habit ever since. She has been teaching sewing to adults and kids for the last 10 years, and loves nothing more than sharing skills and enthusiasm for sewing with others. Originally a garment sewist, she expanded her repertoire to include quilting as well. When she’s not in the sewing studio, you can find her driving carpools, playing with food and talking to cats.
