About the Event
Allow your hands to connect with the moment. Be mindful and enjoy the creative energy that comes from busy hands. Slow Stitching shares a connection with the traditions found in hand quilting, embroidery, and the traditional making and mending of Japanese Boro and Indian Kantha. It can lead to beautiful artwork while allowing you to let go of the stress and anxiety of our world. You can stitch, layer, fray, weave, and knot your way to create time-worn textile samples and keep them in a lovely journal you can refer back to when needed.
With the supplies provided in your kit, you will create your Slow Stitch Journal and have everything you need to try a variety of stitches, explore different thread weights, add scraps, recycled materials and ephemera as you work. The journal is designed to grow with more pages as you try new ideas.
