ONLINE: Sew a Tunic Shirt or Shirtdress with Beth Galvin

Looking to build your skills and make new sewing friends? It's always more fun to sew together! This online class is part formal class instruction from our expert garment instructor, Beth Galvin, and part sewing social time sprinkled with helpful hints, tips, and (virtual) helping hands.

We love the chic look and classic style of the Kalle Shirt & Shirtdress from Closet Core Patterns, but, if you'd prefer to work on a different tunic style shirt or shirtdress pattern, we can accomodate that! The Kalle pattern is the perfect look for spring and summer! When choosing patterns to base our classes on, we particularly appreciate patterns that have more than one style option, as the best part of working with a pattern is perfecting it and then using it more than once. With the Kalle, you can take the basic pattern and use it to make a variety of different pieces that vary in style and length, making each item unique!

This class will cover:

- Pattern adjustments and fitting

- Collars

- Making beautiful plackets

- Buttonholes!

- Tips and tricks for better construction and faster sewing

This session meets each Tuesday when Beth will introduce a new topic or skill that will be related to the project. Then meet up again on Thursdays for Social Sewing.

You have a few projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

About the instructor: 

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun. Cancellation Policy:

Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend. No refunds or studio credit will be given for late arrivals or no-shows.
