About the Event

**This is a 7 session online course meeting every other Sunday from 10am-11:30am. Dates: Jan 9, 23, Feb 6, 20, March 6, 20, April 3**

We're so excited to offer Julia McLeod's Lone Robin workshop at Hello Stitch! What is a Lone Robin? It's an online, interactive quilt challenge with techniques taught along the way; A mystery quilt with a difference!

Your style may be traditional or modern, figurative or abstract. Your finished piece could be a king size quilt or a table runner. The Lone Robin is an inclusive and welcoming class that aims to build creativity and community! Every quilt will be a unique expression of the maker and we cannot wait to see what you create!

You may be familiar with the concept of a Round Robin - a quilt that starts with one maker and is passed on to others, each of whom add to the piece in some way, growing it into a finished quilt top that circles back to its originator.

The Lone Robin also grows in stages, but stays with you. You create each round in response to a prompt, with no knowledge of what might follow. There is no plan, no pattern and no expectation of how this quilt will look when it’s finished.

You will meet with Julia every other week for seven 90 minute sessions to check in, share progress and learn a technique relevant to that week’s round.

Meetings will be recorded so you can revisit techniques taught, or catch up if you miss a meeting. (Recordings will be availbe for one month after the last class.)

Some of the techniques you will cover in class:

  • Choosing your fabrics
  • Sewing with curves
  • Precision piecing
  • Improvisational piecing
  • Julia's favorite tips and tricks
  • ...and so much more!

Skill level: ✂️✂️

You already know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more. This class is for everyone from beginners who are ready to learn new techniques to experienced quilt makers who enjoy the creative challenge of responding to prompts.
