Introduction to English Paper Piecing

About the Event

Join us online for a three hour English Paper Piecing (EPP) workshop that will introduce you to this fun and versatile form of hand-sewn patchwork. We love EPP projects, because they are great "on the go" sewing projects - no sewing machine needed. Working with these small shapes is such a fun way to get to play with fabric and thread!

In class, you'll learn how to make an adorable pincushion, although this project can also be used as a baby or pet toy. We’ll look at examples of different EPP shapes and patterns, as well as ideas for what you can make next. We’ll then pick up our materials and begin sewing! We’ll cover two methods of making the patches, how to join them and then remove the piecing papers. Alex will take you through how to complete the project from start to finish AND you’ll have a worksheet to take away as a reminder.

Skill level: ✂️

No prior sewing experience needed!

Supply List:

A complete supply list will be emailed to you upon registration. You will need to print out a PDF template for the pincushion project prior to the workshop. (Complete class kits are available upon request!)

About the instructor:

While she loves all textile arts, she is obsessed with quilting, and is a former President of the SF Quilters Guild. She has won ribbons for her EPP quilts and wearables.
