Sew the Pineapple Block with Julia McLeod

About the Event

Take a step-by-step quilting workshop with artist Julia McLeod on how to make this classic, pineapple quilt block using the technique of foundation piecing. A printed fabric foundation serves as your guide. The foundation stays in place - no need to tear anything out like with paper piecing.

In this 4-hour class, Julia will also share a short slide show illustrating the history of the pineapple block, and the many ways that color choices can create dramatically different effects.

You'll be provided with:

  • One packet of EZPiecing's Kaleidoscpe Pineapple by Julia McLeod which gives you twelve 10" finished blocks*
  • A supply list of suggested fabrics, colors and cutting instructions
  • A pdf document of step by step directions to complete the block

This workshop will be recorded and will be made available to class participants for 2 weeks following the lesson.

Skill level: ✂️✂️

You have a few projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics. This class is for the patient, confident quilter. The block is not technically difficult but does take a little time and attention to detail.

Supplies: We will ship the Pineapple Foundation Kits to you anywhere in the US* and the fabric requirements will be emailed once you've registered. Kits are usually shipped one to two weeks before class.

*Sorry - US shipping only.

Class registration will close on January 12th for kit shipping.
