About the Event

Comfortable and stylish, add a Wiksten Haori jacket to your handmade wardrobe! This jacket is a great basic pattern. If you're comfortable sewing with cotton or rayon, take your skills up a notch and make one in a luxurious fabric like silk.

In this class we will cover:

-Laying out, pinning and cutting out the fabric

-how to transfer the pattern markings to your fabric pieces

-how to apply interfacing

-how to sew neat seams, including a french seam

-how to do a narrow hem

-tips on working with slippery or sheer fabrics

*This class comes with extra lab time and you can stay and work on your garment with the help of Hello Stitch Staff until we close at 8pm.

Skill level: ✂️✂️

You have a few projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

Supply List: The Wiksten Haori pattern is not included in the class cost and will be required for this class. We will send you a complete supply list upon registration!

About the instructor: 

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun. Cancellation Policy:

Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend. Age Policy:

Youth 14 and up may register for adult classes. In order to participate in class, all minors will need a signed parental consent form. If you will not be dropping your student off at the first session of class, please contact us and we will email you a form to fill out and send with your child.
