Make the Wiksten Haori Kimono Jacket

Comfortable and stylish, add a Wiksten Haori jacket to your handmade wardrobe! This jacket is a great basic pattern. If you're comfortable sewing with cotton or rayon, take your skills up a notch and make one in a luxurious fabric like silk.

In this class we will cover:

-Laying out, pinning and cutting out the fabric

-how to transfer the pattern markings to your fabric pieces

-how to apply interfacing

-how to sew neat seams, including a french seam

-how to do a narrow hem

-tips on working with slippery or sheer fabrics

*This class comes with extra lab time and you can stay and work on your garment with the help of Hello Stitch Staff until we close at 8pm.

Skill level: Beginner (102) - You have a couple of small projects under your belt. You already know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics, like how to do a buttonhole or insert a zipper.
