Learn to Quilt I: Quilt As You Go String Quilt

Learn how to make this stunning Quilt As You Go (QAYG) strip-pieced quilt with instructor Michelle Wyman. In this class, Michelle will walk you through quilt-making basics including:

• Using a sewing machine
• How to properly use a rotary cutter and ruler
• Design layout and color selection
• The QAYG technique
• Making the back for your quilt

This class is two, 2-1/2 hour sessions

Date: Two Tuesdays, March 5 & 12, 6pm - 8:30pm

Skill level: Beginner 102 - You have a couple of small projects under your belt. You already know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

Supplies included: 100% cotton Quilter's Dream quilt batting to make a 42" x 51" quilt is included with the cost of the class. A supply list outlining the rest of your needed supplies will be emailed upon registration.

About the Instructor:

Michelle Wyman has an MFA in the performing arts and worked professionally in San Francisco and Los Angeles before settling down to raise three kids. She has always been a “maker” and whether it was back stage or while chasing her kids around she kept her passion for textiles going with knitting, spinning, sewing and fabric dying. She made her first quilt for her first born 30 years ago an her passion for quilting, embroidery and anything textile related has only grown over the years. Her quest for learning new techniques from master quilters and fabric designers has led her to attend numerous workshops around the country. She loves nothing more than to share her passion with her students young and old!
