Learn to Quilt 101: Bear Paw Quilt

**This is a 4 session class, Wednesdays, March 4, 11, 18, & 25 from 6-8pm.**

Learn how to make a small quilt (44 x 52 inches) from start to finish using an over sized quilt block called the Bear Paw with instructor Terri Carpenter. This class is perfect if you have never sewn a quilt before and a one month membership is included with the class!

Terri will walk you through quilt making including:

• Using a sewing machine
• How to properly use a rotary cutter and ruler 
• Design layout
• Accurate piecing skills 
• Basting and quilting the quilt layers together
• Binding   

Included with your class is a one month membership to the studio that starts the first day of class.This is a fast paced class that will require homework between classroom sessions. Hello Stitch Staff will be on hand and happy to answer your questions to help you outside of class time. 

You will leave class with a small quilt top (or nearly finished one!) and the confidence to take on more complicated patterns and techniques.

You've seen a sewing machine before, but you've never played with one, or if you have given it a try, you'd really love a little extra help to make sure you're doing it correctly.

Supplies:

We will supply the quilt batting and have tools on hand for you to use if you wish, or you can bring your own. More details will be provided in the supply list you receive upon registration.

About the Instructor:

Terri Carpenter's love of sewing lead her to become one of the owners of Hello Stitch. Her passion began with quilting (over 20 years ago!) and has evolved to include many different varieties of textile art.

Cancellation Policy:

Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend. Age Policy:

Youth age 14 and up may register for adult classes. In order to participate in class, all minors will need a signed parental consent form. If you will not be dropping your student off at the first session of class, please contact us and we will email you a form to fill out and send with your child.
