Jacket and Coat Tailoring with Beth Galvin - Weekend Workshop

**This is a 2-day weekend workshop. Lunch and snacks will be provided both days. November 3-4, 10am -4pm.**

Learn to sew a jacket using modern techniques and streamlined construction. The choice of jacket pattern is all yours! You could pick a blazer, overcoat, trench coat, etc.

This class by master jacket maker, Beth Galvin, will cover:

- Where to use the interfacings and which ones to choose

- How to sew a crisp collar and smooth welt pockets

- How to create a lining, even if your pattern doesn’t have one

- Seam Grading and trimming to give your jacket a polished look

- How to sew a perfect sleeve

- How to make perfect buttonholes, smooth hems, tips and tricks for pressing like a pro.

This weekend-long class will consist of 2 days of sewing time in the studio with Beth and include her demonstrating each of these techniques over the weekend so you can see how to use her methods up close.

*This class comes with extra lab time and you can stay and work on your garment with the help of Hello Stitch Staff until we close at 8pm each day.

Skill level: Intermediate - Advanced

About the instructor:

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier!
