Make a cartoon soft-sculpture portrait of your favorite person! Join artist Markiska Miller as she walks you through every step of her soft sculpture portrait process. You can use your own drawing, or use one of Mariska's templates to get a "head" start. 😂 Need some inspiration? Check out Mariska's #stitchedpeeps on Instagram!
In this workshop we will start out by sketching our design and creating a pattern and then move on to the sewing portion of the project. Once your project is completed, you'll have a new friend to hang on the wall!
Skill Level: ✂️✂️
You have a few projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.
Supply List: We'll send a complete supply list upon registration, but you are welcome to dig through our scrap bins to find pieces of fabric for your head. (Trust us, we've got lots of choices in there!)
About the Instructor:
Growing up with a crafty grandma who showed her how to knit sweaters for her Monchichi, Mariska Miller always had an appreciation for all things handmade. She went on to study fashion-design and then put her knowledge to good use working on movies in the costume department. Nowadays she loves working on unique textile creations in her studio and making the world a softer place one stitch at a time.
Cancellation Policy:
Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend. Age Policy:
Youth age 14 and up may register for adult classes. In order to participate in class, all minors will need a signed parental consent form. If you will not be dropping your student off at the first session of class, please contact us and we will email you a form to fill out and send with your child.
