IN STUDIO: Pattern Fit Lab with Beth Galvin

Have you tried sewing your own clothes and been frustrated when, after all of your hard work, the fit just isn't right? We've all been there! Did you know that nearly EVERY pattern will need some adjustment in order for it to fit you correctly? Discover the joy of making clothes that fit and look great with one-on-one help from our garment sewing expert, Beth Galvin. 

For this lab, bring a tissue paper sewing pattern or pre-sewn muslin that you want fitted for you, such as a dress, shirt, jacket, top, or skirt. (We will not be fitting pants in this session.)You will register for a one hour period during which you and one other student will work one-on-one with Beth to fit your pieces and then she will show you the necessary adjustments. You are welcome to come and use our tools and space for the entire 10am - 3pm time period or just come for your assigned time with Beth. It's up to you! 

We highly recommend that you take Beth's Adjust the Bust class on October 8th before the Fit Lab. It's not required, but you'll learn so many things about fitting that can be done before coming in to work with Beth in person!

You've got it down! You've been sewing for awhile and you have a pretty good handle on the basics. You're looking to delve into more advanced techniques and work on advancing your skill set.

About the instructor: 

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun. Cancellation Policy:

Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend. Age Policy:

Youth age 14 and up may register for adult classes. In order to participate in class, all minors will need a signed parental consent form. If you will not be dropping your student off at the first session of class, please contact us and we will email you a form to fill out and send with your child.
