Who doesn’t love baby quilts? A homemade baby quilt is a gift that will be treasured for a lifetime. Learn everything you need to know to make a finished baby quilt in this 2 week course led by instructor Nancy Williams. She will guide you through each of the steps you'll need to make an adorable, baby sized finished quilt.
You will learn how to:
- Use a sewing machine
- Rotary cut fabric
- Piecing and pressing skills
- A simple quilting technique
This class gives at least twice - a baby quilt to gift and the skills to make another one anytime the need arises - cuz babies continue to happen! (And we won't judge if you want to make this for your fur baby!)
Skill level: ✂️
You've seen a sewing machine before, but you've never played with one, or if you have given it a try, you'd really love a little extra help to make sure you're doing it correctly.
Supply List: You will be making a 36" x 36" sized quilt in class. Every student will receive quilt batting and curved pins for basting your quilt sandwich. Hello Stitch has all of the tools you will need to finish your quilt available at the studio, or you can bring your own. You can also bring your own fabric or pick from one of our pre-curated fabric kits, which will be available for you to pick up on your first day of class. A complete list will be emailed upon registration.
About the instructor:
Nancy Williams has been sewing for longer than she cares to say - clothing for the kids and grands; a few wedding dresses; some tailoring. She began piecing quilts about 30 years ago and mostly quilting them on her domestic machine. After renting time on long arm quilting machines and liking it (a lot), she decided to purchase her own. Since then, she has been honing her art and skills on personal quilts, donation quilts and quilts of those she is honored to be trusted with.
