About the Event
Make Do and Mend!
Learn how to make your wardrobe last longer and look fabulous. In this workshop, you will work with damaged materials to make them beautiful by adding decorative stitching. We will supply you with all of the tools and materials you will need for your "patch kit." All you will need is arrive with stained or ripped clothes and we'll dive right in! After you leave, get ready for all the compliments you'll receive.

This class is open to every skill level.
Supplies: We will supply needle, thread and "scraps" for patches. If you have fabric you'd like to use for your patches, be sure to bring it.
About the instructor:
Kristen Takakuwa is one of the original founders of Hello Stitch and learned to sew at the age of 8. Sewing has been a lifelong habit ever since! She has been teaching sewing to adults and kids for over 10 years and loves nothing more than sharing her skills and enthusiasm for sewing with others.
This class is being held at the Ace Makerspace located at 6050 Lowell St, #206, Oakland CA 94608. Located where Oakland, Berkeley and Emeryville come together and just a short hop from Ashby BART. Ace Makerspace is a nonprofit whose mission is bringing people together to create, learn and solve life’s challenges with an amazing array of tools, technology, and project-based education. All in inclusive spaces, serving everybody in Oakland and beyond. You are required to open a free guest account prior to class.
Class fees are non-refundable. However you may transfer the class to a friend if you let us know in advance (please ask them to set up a guest account at Ace Makerspace).
