Working with improv can be wonderfully freeing for some, yet the outcome can seem a little overwhelming to the senses of others. You can have your cake and eat it too! Choosing constraints at the outset of an improv project can not only lower the decision-making burden that can seem overwhelming, it can also ensure your composition finishes with dramatic flair. In this class, you will explore several different variations of improv triangles, and experiment with variables that will alter the look of each variation. You will then incorporate these blocks into a large wedge layout to make a 24” square wall hanging.

Skill level: ✂️✂️

You have made a couple quilts and are comfortable with a ¼" seam. You are ready to learn some new quilting techniques.

Supplies: You will receive the fabric requirements once you sign up. Bay Quilts is glad to help you select fabrics for your quilt.

Sewing Machines and Equipment:

You will need to bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to class. The specific tools you need will be included in the supply list.

About the instructor:

Michelle Trimble pieced her first quilt in college, but waited 20 years to finish it in 2018. Once she rediscovered her love of quilting, she hasn't looked back! She is an active member of both the San Francisco Quilt Guild and Silicon Valley Modern Quilt Guild. Her quilts have hung in national shows such as QuiltCon and AQS Paducah, and won ribbons in local and national quilt shows. She enjoys designing with bold colors and design elements to maximize the "wow" factor, and loves teaching others skills that will help them reach their quilting goals.

Location:

This class is being held at the Bay Quilts located at 5327 Jacuzzi St. 3-C, Richmond, CA 94804.
