Working with large scale patterns can be intimidating but the results can be spectacular. Angie Woolman will teach you how to:

  • find large gesture fabrics
  • audition them, and
  • cut into them with confidence

Angie will give you her patchwork design recipe (pattern) including cutting sizes and piecing order. This will be the basis for putting together your quilt. The design looks freeform, but you will receive a sewing order with cutting recipe (however you do not have to use it).

Leave class with your quilt layed out!

Skill level: ✂️ or ✂️✂️

There is no sewing in this class. You will design your quilt in class but it is up to you to construct your quilt following class.

Supplies: Class includes Angie's patchwork design recipe. You will receive the supply list once you sign up. No sewing machine is required.

About the instructor:

Angie Woolman has been teaching and mentoring students and clients for almost 40 years. Angie offers virtual classes and in-person private or group classes in a variety of experience levels techniques and styles. She is an expert on color theory and has lectured and taught intensively in the use and function of color and of visually diverse prints. She becomes especially excited when her students grasp the importance of judging fabric combinations not because they match... but because they can create depth, transparency, impact, atmospheric perspective, or mood.
