If you’ve ever looked at a quilt pattern and felt like you couldn't tackle it because it had curves, this is the class for you! In this class you will learn how to cut and sew curved shapes using the Clammy ruler.

In this class, we will start with sewing quarter circles and level up from there! After class you will be able to make a quilt full of curves using your new skills and your versatile ruler. The design possibilities are endless (and fun!).

Skill level: ✂️✂️

This class is great for adventurous beginners who can sew a quarter inch seam allowance and more experienced quilters looking to master curved piecing.

Supplies: You will need a 12" clammy ruler (available at Bay Quilts) and you will receive the fabric requirements once you sign up. Bay Quilts is glad to help you select fabrics for your quilt.

Sewing Machines and Equipment: You will need to bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to class.

About the instructor:

Chelsea Hard made her first quilt perched on the edge of the couch with her sewing machine on the coffee table. Now practicing better ergonomics and covered in thread, she enjoys all aspects of quilting both by hand and machine. When not quilting or teaching, she can be found purchasing crafts supplies she’ll only use once, adding too much Liberty fabric to her online shopping cart & actively avoiding organizing her studio. She is the former president of the South Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild and an award winning jam maker. Chelsea currently resides in the East Bay with her two sewing machines and two handsome Doodles.

Location:

This class is being held at the Bay Quilts located at 5327 Jacuzzi St. 3-C, Richmond, CA 94804. They opened Bay Quilts to share their passion and knowledge with the vision of creating a community where artists, crafters, quilters, and makers of all ability can learn, grow, and create together.  This unique fabric shop is so much more than a store - from consignments quilts and gifts, and cloth figures to monthly gallery exhibitions and artist receptions to workshops.  Bay Quilts is a sanctuary for creatives of all skill level.
