About the Event
Forget the quilting police and the “cotton only” rule. In this class you will be encouraged to build a quilt entirely out of up-cycled materials. Use work shirts, silk ties, linen or rayon blouses, wool or corduroy slacks or, heavens forbid, polyester clothing. Whether you use the fabric in the shape it comes from the garment or cut it into traditional shapes like squares or triangles, your quilt will be unique and personal.
Skill level: Beginner (102) - You have a couple of small projects under your belt. You already know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.
About the Instructor:
Fern Royce grew up surrounded by textiles and what we now call “makers.” She learned to sew when she was very young, but did not begin quilting until the mid 1990’s. She took quilting classes at her local quilting store,…
