Artist Reception: Margaret Glendening - Piecing It Together

We are thrilled to re-open the Hello Stitch Studio gallery and invite you to join us for the artist's reception of Piecing It Together by Margaret Glendening. Margaret is a long time Hello Stitch community member and artist in residence. We get to see her beautiful quilts regularly and are excited to share them with you!

What Margaret Glendening remembers most about her first sewing project, at age 9, is the green and white fabric she used to make a sundress. Margaret made her first quilt in 1999 for a friend who was having a baby. Then, using the machine that she had gotten as a college graduation present, she used the same fabrics for two more quilts because she just couldn’t resist using up all her scraps.

She has kept making quilts because it is meditative, without being mindless, using parts of her brain she doesn’t get to use…
